DAY CAMP
About.
Day Camp is offered for kids entering Kindergarten through 6th grade for the upcoming school year.
Camp Choson’s Day Camp is a 5-day program that goes from Monday - Friday. Campers in 6th grade are invited to stay overnight on Thursday for bridge camp.
Campers start their day at Achim Moim, a family gathering with entertainment and announcements. Campers will join their small groups to participate in the fun of Achim Moim. Day campers are assigned to groups based on the grade they are entering in the upcoming school year. Following Achim Moim, the small groups will attend their various sessions at locations throughout camp.
Their day starts at 9:00 a.m. and ends at 4:00 p.m. on Monday - Thursday. Camp Choson ends Friday after the closing ceremony, which occurs from 1:30 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. Attendance is open to all interested relatives and friends at no cost.
Community.
Time is spent with each other and their counselors as they develop lasting memories by understanding what it is to be a Korean-American. Through activities and discussion the day campers build a community that they can call their own.
Our community starts its day together at Achim Moim and becomes closer through the enjoyment of good food and fun conversation.
A delicious lunch provided to every camper, every day. Under the guidance of our head chef, Grace V., a strong core of volunteers cooks a traditional celebratory meal built with love with an understanding that coming together over a great meal makes warm memories.
Growing.
The community grows with knowledge and fun. Activities that day campers get to participate in:
Korean Language and Culture
Traditional Dance and Drum
Taekwondo
Art
Self-Respect
Archery
Community is not just for the kids…
While the kids are attending camp, parents and other relatives are asked to volunteer where possible and are also invited to attend the Adult Workshops (no charge), visit the Market, and enjoy a wonderful Korean lunch (tickets available for purchase).
BRIDGE CAMP: a bonus experience
As bonus to the day camp, kids entering 6th grade can also sign up for an overnight camp option. Campers will stay at camp overnight on Thursday night. This gives soon-to-be resident campers a chance to experience a bit of what resident camp will be like. A evening meal, games and various activities are planned.
